FAQ’s

Q: Is concrete engraving an overlay?
A: No, engraving is not on the surface of the concrete, but in the surface and does not add any thickness to your concrete.

Q: Is it permanent?
A: Yes. The stain and engraving is now in the surface of the concrete and will last as long as the concrete.

Q: Do you seal the concrete?
A: Yes, the last step of our process seals the concrete.

Q: How often does it need to be sealed?
A: Our sealer soaks into the concrete surface and will last as long as your concrete. But it is a good idea to apply a coat of sealer once in a while to keep the stain looking new and act as a wear coat.

Q: Will it fade?
A: We only use proven products made especially for concrete and there is no noticeable fading. If anything, the colors get richer over time.

Q: How is the engraving accomplished?
A: We use two methods. One is a grinding process and the other is a chipping process.

Q: Do you give free estimates?
A: Yes, call for an estimate.

Q: Do you provide consultations?
A: Yes. We bring our samples to your home or business and discuss the options available to you and give our recommendations.

Q: How long does it take to stain and engrave?
A: Most jobs take about one week from start to finish, but it depends on the size and complexity of the job.

Q: Can this be done on concrete that has had outdoor carpet on it?
A: Yes, but all of the carpet and adhesive must be removed first.

Q: Can the concrete be stained but not engraved?
A: Yes, however, engraving is to stained concrete as frosting is to cake. It makes a big difference!

Q: How much does it cost?
A: Each job is unique and we custom design the engraving for each location and personality. Therefore, it is priced according to what we plan to do at each location. Contact us for an estimate.

Q: What if my concrete has been sealed or painted?
A: Anything that is on your concrete, like sealer, paint, carpet adhesive, etc. will need to be removed before we can stain your concrete. When we are finished, the concrete will be sealed.

Q: What do you do about cracks?
A: We leave the cracks as they are, but make sure our stain is applied down into them. When we are finished, the cracks are significantly less noticeable. We also work the design around the cracks to disguise them. Cracks add character to the design, especially with the flagstone designs. Cracks are usually there because the concrete moves due to temperature changes, etc. If we fill the cracks, the next time the concrete moves, the cracks come back and the filler material is popped out, making the cracks look worse.

Q: Do you repair concrete?
A: No, we do not repair concrete. We make good concrete look amazing!

Q: Do you pour or place concrete?
A: No. We only do artwork on existing concrete.

Q: How old can the concrete be?
A: Age doesn't matter. However, we prefer that new concrete to be at least 21 days old.
